Bio
Welcome to Stickflingers and thank you for visiting this site. My name is Ryan Derlago and like you am passionate about bowhunting. Growing up in a bowhunting family has allowed me to experience many amazing hunts and be part of multiple harvests. I have been blessed to take many trophy bear, as well as deer, moose, and elk in my home province of Manitoba.
I have an amazingly understanding and beautiful wife Kirsten, who married me in 2003 regardless of my hunting addiction. We were blessed to have a son, (Maddox in Sept. ‘05’), a daughter, (Ruby in Feb. ‘07’), and our youngest son, (Beckett in Feb. ’11′), who together with their mom make coming home for me more exciting than heading out each day.
I am employed by Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, whose schedule is four days on and four days off, allowing for plenty of time for family and hunting.
I have guided hunters for deer, bear, and moose since 1993 and have been a licensed outfitter in Manitoba since 2005. I am excited to help hunters experience “bowhunting in Canada” and share this game rich province with other passionate bowhunters.
My father Ron Derlago will be helping me stay on top of the bears, and will be part of Stickflingers for many years to come. He is the reason for my addiction as it seems to be genetically passed on. With nearly 40 years of bowhunting experience, and many awesome trophies, he will surely be an asset to the operation. As a retired employee of Corrections Canada, Ron is now a full time husband, father, grandfather, and hunter.
My mother Bea, who will also be in camp, will be providing meals to ensure everyone goes home heavier than when they arrived. “Ms. Bea” has the ability to make everyone feel as though they were at home!
